Obviously I like your web site, but you need to check the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very silly to tell you. Nevertheless I’ll certainly come again again! Admin reply: Hello. Thanks very much for your note. Can you please tell me what needs fixing? I would be so grateful to know, and to make things better if I can. Thanks. MM

I think other site proprietors should take this site as an model - very clean and magnificent style and design, not to mention the content. You are an expert in this topic!

Ci siamo conosciuti in Italia in 2000 quando Lei abitava li. E stato un piacere. Ero io con mia amica Carmen che aveva cura di tuo gato quando eravate partiti per concerti fuori Italia. Si ricorda ?

Listening to your radio interviews for the BBC made me realise how time flies and that it must be at least 15 years since we last spoke. Your playing still manages to convey both your scholarship and your passion for the music, and I still believe that you are the only player I have heard who can make the instrument truly sing.

Private post. Click to view. Admin reply: Hello! How amazing and wonderful to get a note from you. I am so sorry---I cannot exactly remember us playing together. Bet we were terrific! Herman Spier was the best teacher I ever had. I wish I had stayed with him longer. Please stay in touch. Are you a musician now? You are very nice, but I have changed incredibly since I was seven! Your 10 Cds for a Desert Island are a puzzling choice. One would suppose that you have only a mild interest in classical music and don't like the sound of harpsichords! I like the rest of the web site and your wonderful playing. Admin reply: Hello. Thank you for your remarks. I think hearing music for me is a little like a bus driver choosing to go for a ride on his day off. I teach in a concservatory and hear classical music all day, every day. Of course I like it! but when I am not working I like to have quiet, or something very different. Many people were bothered by my list; quite a few professional musicians told me (secretly) that they don't listen to music unless they have to. I think we live in a rarified screwy way. Music should be uplifting, and it IS, but I hear mostly imperfections, ways to make it better--- acoustic, timing, gesture. There is something lost and something gained, I suppose. So, I like Janis Joplin. I just hop around to that, and do not think about the timing of trills. All the best to you! MM
